How to make your frog
1. Make the frog face
Cut a big green circle for the frog’s head. Glue two white circles at the top for the eyes. Draw black pupils in the middle.
2. Make the mouth
Ask an adult to help cut a small straight slit where the mouth will be. This is where the tongue will move in and out.
3. Make the tongue
Cut a long strip of red paper. Make it about two or three times longer than the frog’s face. Glue a small paper fly to the end.
4. Add the pull tab
Fold a small piece of paper and glue it to the back end of the tongue. This will be the tab you pull.
5. Put it together
Slide the tongue through the mouth slit. Pull the tab to make the tongue slide out. Push it back to hide it again.
6. Optional: add a guide
If the tongue moves around too much, glue a short straw or a folded strip of paper to the back. This helps the tongue slide straight.
How the frog works
Push the tab and the tongue hides inside the mouth.
Pull the tab and the tongue slides out to catch the fly.
You can repeat this again and again.
