Pride Paper Fans | A Simple and Colourful Pride Craft for Kids
Share
Few decorations feel as festive as a bright paper fan. They’re bold, cheerful, and surprisingly easy to make – which makes them perfect for a quick Pride craft project with kids. These Pride paper fans are a brilliant way to add colour to a wall, window, or party table. With a little folding and a few sheets of paper, you can create decorations that look like they came straight from a party shop.
They’re also a fantastic craft for families or classrooms preparing decorations for Pride Month celebrations AND they keep you cool on a hot June day!
For our Pride paper fan craft you will need:
Coloured paper in rainbow shades
Glue or tape
Stapler (optional)
String or ribbon for hanging (optional)
Lollipop stick (optional)
Using rainbow craft paper packs makes it easy to keep the colours bright and consistent but colouring plain paper with your own patterns adds that personal touch!
How to Make Pride Paper Fans:
1. Arrange Your Colours
Stack your coloured sheets in rainbow order. Once done, fold the stack accordion-style, moving back and forth across the entire sheet.
2. Fold the Strip in Half
Bend the folded strip in half to create a semi-circle.
3. Secure the Centre
Glue, tape, or staple the centre so the folds stay together.
4. Open the Fan
Spread the folds out until they form a full circular fan.
5. Hang Your Decoration
Attach string or ribbon and display your fan on a wall or window OR glue the lollipop stick to each end of the fan to give it a handle.
Once you've got the craft down you can use it for all sorts of things! You can try making:
A Pride Photo Backdrop - Make several fans in different sizes for a colourful wall display. Awesome for a photo booth at pride events!
Window Decorations - Hang them in windows to brighten your home during Pride Month.
Party Table Decor - Place smaller fans around a party table for a festive look.
Pride paper fans are a wonderful reminder that you don’t need complicated supplies to create something bright and joyful. With just a little folding and colour, you can transform simple paper into beautiful decorations.
