Celebrate St Andrew's Day By Making A Saltire Garland
Share
Celebrate St Andrew’s Day with a bright and cheerful Saltire Garland! This craft is perfect for little hands, easy to make, and it pairs perfectly with our thistles and hat for St Andrew's Day to add instant Scottish flair to your home or classroom without the need to scream FREEDOM!
Supplies:
-
Blue and white paper
-
Scissors
-
Glue or tape
-
String
Steps:
-
Cut the blue into triangles or rectangle and fold the top 1 cm to make it easier to hang.
-
Cut out white strips for the Saltire (X shape).
-
Glue white strips onto blue background. You may need to trim them if you're using a triangle base.
-
Attach flags to a string by placing the string on the back where the fold is and gluing the 1cm fold shut over it.
-
Hang as decoration once dry.
Your kids will love seeing their Saltire Garland brighten up the room! It’s a simple, fun way to celebrate St Andrew’s Day while learning about Scotland’s national flag. (It's also the perfect way to celebrate another football defeat over England!)
